Buhari condemns attack on Jonathan’s campaign buses in Jos
The
presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammadu
Buhari, has frowned at the burning and destruction of the campaign
buses of President Goodluck Jonathan, in Jos, the Plateau State capital
on Saturday.
PSALMGIST reports that some angry youths believed to be fans of Buhari reportedly went out of their way in Jos and burnt down vehicles belonging to the president’s campaign.
Buhari, who was in Anambra on his campaign tour, took to Twitter to dissociate himself from the violence.
The former Head of State strongly warned his teeming supporters to desist from violence before, during and after the election.
He tweeted: “I have received news of violence in Jos today. I condemn this violence in its entirety. I reject any supporter who resorts to violence”
Buhari followed up with two other tweets saying: “Like I said after the attack on our supporters in Rivers this week, elections are not war.
Electoral violence is unacceptable. We can and we will bring #
Change to Nigeria peacefully. I call on the PDP to join this call for peace.
