Forget Mayweather Pacquiao! Sylvester Stallone reveals he will fight Arnold Schwarzenegger in ‘rematch’ instead as actors head to lunch

They are unquestionably two of Hollywood's all-time greatest heavyweights.

And according to Sylvester Stallone, he and Arnold Schwarzenegger are going to step into the ring to decide who is the greatest action hero of them all.

The 68-year-old was joking with photographers as he and Arnie left an LA restaurant together after having lunch.

Expendables: Sylvester Stallone joked on Saturday that he and Arnold Schwarzenegger will replace Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather for their 'rematch'

The screen legends were making their way through the parking lot when one of the snappers asked the Rocky star what he thought of the Mayweather Pacquiao fight last weekend.

'Yeah I would have thought that the place would have erupted into celebration that everyone was so happy,' he replied.

But when asked if he would watch the rematch, the actor replied 'of course I will', before he suddenly came up with a better suggestion.

We'll be back: The two screen legends were joking with photographers as they left their lunch date in LA

Grudge match: Sly claimed he and Arnie would be 'guest replacements' for the two fighters should they want to fight again

'Actually Arnold and I are going to do the rematch. We're going to do a guest replacement,' he said, adding that the number of rounds they would go would be 'Probably about 30'.

Arnold was quiet the whole time, his mind clearly on his destination - getting a look at the new car his Expendables co-star had just bought.

'Oh that's nice. Gorgeous. Beautiful,' the 67-year-old Governator purred as her gave it the once over. 'Hey Sly congratulations. It looks great.'

Car-nold: Arnie, chomping a cigar the whole time, was more interested in getting a looks at his Expendable co-star's new ride

'You like it huh? Isn't that nice? Great colour,' Sly agreed. 'Thank you.'

Then Arnie jumped into his modest vehicle - a restored vintage army truck.

'See: when you've money.... and when you've no money,' he joked as he chomped on his cigar, gesturing first to Stallone's ride and then to his own.

It's only at this point Sly seems to put together the enormous military vehicle of course belongs to the Austrian

Commando: After admiring Stallone's new car, he jumped into his own - an enormous vintage army truck

Sylvester Stal-lols: Sly seemed bemused by Arnie's choice of vehicle, asking him if he'd been enlisted

'Arnold did you just enlist? What happened? Did you get drafted? What happened? He shouts after him. 'What are you in the army?'

As the photographers jostle to get a shot of the Terminator star behind the wheel of the gargantuan truck, one asks if it has a horn.

'Nah he just yells,' Stallone interjects. '"Get out of the way".'

Escape plan: When one snapper asked if the truck had a horn, Stallone replied for him: 'Nah he just yells'
