The former Arsenal defender just won the treble with Barcelona. Despite the fact he only played ONE game this season, everyone seems to be very impressed
You’ve got to hand it to Thomas Vermaelen.
Whatever anyone says, the former Arsenal captain will forever be able to tell the world that he was part of the 2014/15 Barcelona side which won the treble.
Following Barca’s 3-1 defeat of Juventus in Berlin, the Belgian defender can spend the rest of his life showing people his La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League winner’s medals.
This is despite one slight problem: since joining Barcelona last summer, he has only played ONE meaningless league game.
Some people might scoff at this fact, and mock Vermaelen for daring to be part of his team mates’ celebrations.
